Crypto-ransomware and other zero-day attacks are on the rise. These attacks use viruses or malware developed specifically to target a particular group. They are often so well disguised that their targets are tricked into running the malware or virus. This is where sandboxing comes in.
Our security solution first analyses every unknown file, using not just a virus scanner, which cannot yet recognise these new threats, but also virtualisation. The suspicious file is launched and allowed to run in a virtual environment. If it behaves suspiciously — by embedding itself in the system, downloading additional files from the internet or carrying out other malicious activities — the download or email delivery is blocked.
